Denise Meyers
Denise Meyers dreamed of growing up to be a writer like Beverly Cleary or
Erma Bombeck, but real life happened before she found time to pursue her
dream. She held a variety of jobs while raising her family, but never
stopped reaching for her personal star, so she pursued writing while working
as a service station attendant, waitress, day-care provider, and secretary.
This eclectic mix of jobs provided fodder for a wide range of characters and
story ideas.
Her family's enjoyment of camping led her to research destinations for short, interesting trips for families with young children and gave her an idea for a series of articles for regional travel publications. Sales to camping and travel magazines in the early 1990s fueled her fire to
continue writing, so she swallowed her fear of rejection and started submitting her short stories and articles to larger publications. She placed her first novel with an electronic publisher in 1999.
Denise lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, youngest child, and the ugliest little dog on the planet, where she belongs to the local volunteer fire department as a member of Fire Police. She's a member of Romance Writers of America, and is currently the president of Pennwriters, Inc., a multi-genre writing organization in Pennsylvania, where she's served on the Board of Directors since 1998.
Her publishing credits include Woman's World, The Star, The Sun, Writer's Digest Magazine, Writer's Novel and Short Story Market, and a novel, Driven To Love, soon to be available at HardShell.com.
