Leigh Riker
Born in northeastern Ohio and a graduate of Kent State University with a B.A. in English, award-winning author Leigh Riker began her career writing short stories, published most recently in Woman's World; but with her first two novels, Heartsong and Acts of Passion from Warner/Popular Library, she felt she had found her niché.
In 1991, HarperPaperbacks published her third book, Morning Rain, followed in 1993 by Unforgettable and Tears of Jade; Just One Of Those Things, 1994; and Oh, Susannah and Danny Boy in 1995. Foreign rights have been sold in France and Russia.
Leigh is a member of the Authors Guild, Novelists Inc. and RWA. She served as first co-chair of PAN, Published Author Network's Career Planning Subcommittee and as a judge for the RITA awards. She has also judged WFWA's, Women's Fiction Writers Association, Great Beginnings; the Wyoming Writers Adult Fiction, Connecticut RWA Now and Then contests and the Northwest Houston RWA Lone Star Writing Competition, the Maggies and The Emily contests.
She loves a good story or romantic suspense, both reading and writing. When not writing or thinking about writing, she likes long walks, travel, movies that make her laugh or cry, reading (preferably a good love story), horseback riding, and playing the pianowith gusto not finesse.
At her home in the mountains of Tennessee with assorted wildlife, Leigh lives with her husband and is now working on her next novel.
