Susan began her writing career with a great love of reading and pages and pages of really bad poetry in high school (samples available upon request). But it never occurred to her that a girl from the suburbs could grow up to be an actual writer. So instead of pursuing her dream, she chose a practical college degree accounting. Part way through her schooling, she saw an ad at a local adult education center for a class on "How to Write a Romance Novel." Susan signed up and started her first book.
The class was eight weeks long and by week six, Susan knew what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. There was, however, still that pesky accounting degree to contend with. To keep her family happy, she completed the degree, but passed on the job offers. Instead, she focused on writing and sold her first book three months after graduating, in the summer of 1990.
Susan's fast-paced, sexy, funny and heartwarming stories quickly became reader favorites. She writes between five and seven books a year, which makes her fans very happy, often creating on-going series. Her Hometown Heartbreaker series has nearly a million books in print, while her Desert Rogue series has proven that the sheik fantasy is alive and well.
Susan lives in the Pacific Northwest the non-rainy part with her handsome husband and her two charming cats.
