I was 12 when I read my first Harlequin romances. Lillian Peake and Anne Mather were the first two authors I read. They set the hook and reeled me in. Ok, I admit it. Yes, I still have all of their novels. In fact, up until a few months ago, I had every romance novel I had ever read since the age of 12. I donated box after box to charity when I realized that I just could not move them all again. I only kept 25 boxes of my very most favorites. HA!!

I am an eclectic reader. I read Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, John Sanford, and many others as well as romance. When it comes to romance, I like historicals, vampires, contemporary, and anything that catches my eye.

When I get my house looking less like we just moved in and more like a home, I will go back to my 20-year career. I am a teacher. I teach 7th and 8th graders English and History. I have found that my love of reading really helps in this field. I try constantly to encourage a love for reading and use any tactic I can think of. Writing reviews for sites has been a wonderful tool. I have been able to show them that reading and writing are skills they need because they never know where they might use them. Actually being able to show students a written review is powerful.
