Helen started borrowing and reading books from the school library when she was in junior high school, although the subject matter at the time was horses and dogs. When she graduated from high school, she entered the job market and left reading behind to marry her real-life hero and raise a family.
When her daughter was in junior high, she started taking her allowance and spending it at the bookstore on romance novels. Helen wanted to know what her daughter was reading, so she read a couple of her daughter's books and—voila, she was hooked!
Helen has been an avid romance fan ever since. She loves a good family story, especially one that contains children. She laughs and cries with the hero and heroine as she reads and loves to see the couple come together and overcome their conflicts.
Her daughter is now married with three daughters of her own and they are the light of Helen's life. Still married to the man she has loved for over 35 years and counting, she devotes a lot of time to her reading—one or two books a day, if not more!
Helen is so devoted to romance books that she has established a computer database of 500+ authors, where she records their titles, hero and heroine names, etc. She also visits several author websites and periodically sends them e-mail to let them know how much she enjoyed reading their latest book.
