Wanda Mitchell
After doing office work for 30 years, Wanda now makes her living doing typing at home and she absolutely loves it no more office politics and pantyhose. For the first time in years, she actually enjoys yard work, because it doesn’t have to come at the end of a long, stressful day, but can be done in the cool of the morning. Wanda has two grown sons, one of whom is not too far away with a young family and the other many miles away serving our country overseas, so she has a very real appreciation for e-mail and the internet now.
Wanda doesn’t remember reading much in grade school, but junior high is when she started to read romances. She had a friend who got Harlequin books from her sister in Canada and that’s how Wanda got hooked. Remember those, maybe one kiss and only holding hands. Wow, have things changed in the genre. Anyway, she is now a bookaholic. If she doesn’t read a book a day, then she starts to have withdrawal symptoms and it doesn’t matter if it’s a new one or an old favorite, she has to read something. Wanda says the best thing about books is that you can go anywhere, learn anything and have an adventure or a torrid romance, all without leaving the comforts of home.
Wanda started to wonder about reviewing and the mechanics of how it works after discovering Romantic Times magazine and realized how she used the reviews to influence her personal buying choices. She is enjoying this opportunity to expand her reading horizons with new authors and the books from independent publishers that are not readily available in her area. Wanda hopes that readers will find her reviews helpful and entice them to try these authors and to actively seek out books from the independent publishers on their own or request them through their local library. She says this is a great time to be a reader we have so many more choices available to us now!
