The Bad Boy

Harlequin American Romance #1026

July 2004

Leah Vale

Marcus McCoy was a hound dog first class. Marcus had gotten the maid in their home pregnant. His father Joseph told him that he would take care of the problem but Marcus was never to do it again or he would be disinherited. Joseph's wife went overseas with the young woman and they returned with Marcus's new baby brother Alexander. When Marcus met his fate with a grizzly bear on a fishing trip in Alaska, it was discovered that Marcus younger brother Alexander was really his eldest son. But the story didn't end there. When Marcus's will was read his father learned that he had other children and Marcus had paid the mothers to keep his secret. Now Joseph wants to draw his new grandsons into the fold so they can take their rightful place in the family.

Cooper Anders had lived in Dependable, Missouri all his life. When he was fourteen his mother told him who his father was just before she died. Cooper knew that the McCoy family was too wealthy for the likes of him. Cooper was arrested following a fight in a bar. He was bailed out the next morning by a woman who gave him a letter from Joseph McCoy, founder of McCoy Enterprises and Cooper Anders's grandfather.

Sara Barnes would do anything for Joseph McCoy, even bail out his grandson. When Cooper Anders informs her that he will get his revenge on the McCoy family, Sara must keep him from succeeding. Alexander, Cooper's half-brother tells Sara to keep an eye on Cooper and for her to foil anything Cooper might do to harm the company. Sara wants to as far away from Cooper, but there was an attraction between Cooper and Sara, which they both are trying to overlook. Will Cooper be able to seek revenge for his mother?

Leah Vale writes a story that kept me turning the pages to the very end. As Cooper tries to wreak havoc on McCoy's Enterprises, Sara was trying her best to make sure that Cooper can't do any damage. Will Sara be able to persuade Cooper that his grandfather and half-brothers were really his family now? Will Cooper be able to become part of the McCoy family? Pickup a copy of The Bad Boyand enjoy it as much as I did.
