When Alexandre Dupree came to California to consult with the Ashton Estate winery, the jaded Frenchman never dreamed he'd meet a woman as captivating as Charlotte Ashton. Celibate by choice, Charlotte was the first woman in a long time to tempt him. He'd never been able to rely on a woman so he doesn't understand the immediate and very strong attraction to Charlotte or why she pushes him away when she seems to be attracted too.
Charlotte operated the estate greenhouses for the Ashton estate. She was shy and insecure about her own femininity, and while she found Alexandre attractive, she knew he was out of her league.

Chatlotte and her brother Walker had been raised by Lilah and Spencer Ashton after her parents died. But she's had a suspicion for a while that her mother might actually still be alive.
Alexandre values honesty, but when he finds Charlotte's diary and reads her innermost fantasies, he's forced to lie by omission. But as he awakens her senses by playing out the fantasies she wrote, and begins to fall in love with her, he can only hope she could forgive him. And when Charlotte discovers what's he's done, can she forgive his duplicity and give in to the first true love she's experienced?
Nalini Singh has written a stunningly sensual chapter of the Ashton continuity. Her hero and heroine are the proverbial opposites who attract. Additionally she continues the Spencer Ashton story thread, adding a piece here and another there to fill in a bit more of the overall picture.
Awaken the Senses will catapult you into the middle of California wine country and keep you mesmerized with it's rich descriptions and building sexual tension.
